BENGALURU — Emergent has announced a valuation of $1.5 billion following a $130 million Series C funding round. This marks a significant increase from its previous valuation of $300 million just six months ago.

With backing from Creaegis, SoftBank, and Y Combinator, Emergent’s total funding now stands at $230 million. Co-founder Mukund Jha claims the company has achieved annual revenue of $120 million and serves over 200,000 paying customers. However, questions remain about the sustainability of this rapid growth.

Emergent positions itself as an “engineering team in a box,” targeting small to midsize businesses. Yet, it faces stiff competition from established players like Replit. Jha acknowledges that design quality is a significant challenge for many AI-driven platforms, raising concerns about the company’s long-term viability.
